Welcome to the Palestine Writing Workshop. The Workshop committed to building a creative community–-we offer you a warm and heartfelt invitation to join ours. In a society disempowered by occupation and patriarchal power structures, we must take back our story by creatively developing our voices and utilising tools to construct and present our reality and narrative. To this end, our community is dedicated to developing the voices of emerging creative writers.

Currently we offer Writer in Residence workshops with experienced, published authors who provide 20 hours of training over a 1-2 week period. We also programme Poetry of Palestine–a night of poetic performances. Check out our upcoming events and trainings and look forward, with us, to the development of our Reading Room, book readings, trainings, and internships.

Creative Writers

At the heart of the Palestine Writing Workshop, of course, are the writers. If you are interested in writing or are a writer and want to develop your skills, check out the many different trainings we offer, join a book club, or read poetry at an event. No matter what your interest, we would love for you to come and be a part of our community! Browse our website, email us, or just come by and meet other writers.

Teaching Writing

If the idea is to build a community of writers, we need also to develop those who can edit texts, publish books, programme and produce literature festivals, and mentor writers. A key ingredient for all of this is the teacher, and to this end we have programmes that train strong candidates to “pay forward” their knowledge as facilitators.

We organize poetry readings with open mic space for new voices to participate as well as book readings with authors both local and visiting. Check out what we are up to under the Upcoming section of our website and join us for some literary fun.

I Love Books!

Come enjoy a cup of tea and a great book in our Reading Room. Also, we run book clubs. Just email us to find out when we are running one in your area and you are welcome to join, or you can get together a group of friends and start your own! We’ll provide you the books, discussion questions and even a facilitator if you like.
